Michel Bettane regrets the gradual fading away of malbec as a noble variety in Bordeaux, underlines its significance in local history, and rejoices about Noir, "a truly prodigious pure malbec": "a monument of texture, with a noble bouquet and this inimitable note of violet, Noir outshines many much better known crus, in terms of body, texture or length."

Le Cot 2019 was selected among 15 Bordeaux by journalist Panos Kakaviatos for Decanter. This "fine example of 100% Malbec" illustrates our efforts to reach the most accurate expression of Malbec on limestone-clay soils. Mr Kakaviatos underlines its freshness, concentration, and aromatic complexity.

First scores and comments for our 2018 vintage, including 17 and 17.5 marks for our new cuvées, Noir and Poupre. This encourages us in the important choices that we took these last years. It is also a sign of the growing acknowledgment of the potential and dynamism of Bordeaux’s “Côtes”.

Château Bonnange buys Château Les Jonqueyres
Les Jonqueyres is an historical symbol of quality in Blaye. Pascal Montaux, singled out as "winemaker of the year" by the RVF, has always been involved in ambitious viticulture and respect of soil and terroir. He will accompany us for a few more years, before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Thanks to him.
